Meet Claudia D. Cuccia

Claudia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Emory University in Atlanta and a Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law.  During law school, Claudia was a member of the Administrative Law Review and a student attorney in the Domestic Violence Clinic, securing civil protection orders and preparing U-Visa applications for clients.

After graduating cum laude, Claudia drew on her experience supporting survivors of violence to successfully lobby the D.C. Council to pass a landmark resolution recognizing freedom from domestic violence as a fundamental human right.  The resolution was distributed to key District sectors to align local response with international human rights standards.

Claudia continued pursuing work that improves people’s lives.  Coalescing her science background, legal writing expertise, and regulatory knowledge, she drafted disability hearing decisions for Administrative Law Judges and earned a reputation for thorough analysis and reliable writing.  She was also selected for SSA’s competitive National Leadership Development Program focusing on Communications and Operations support, where she engaged in emergency COVID response measures, workforce planning, hiring, training, and executive briefings.

Claudia listens with care to her clients’ needs and works diligently on their behalf.  She does this by bringing her varied experience, reliable communication skills, and a strong command of the record to their case.

Outside of work, Claudia enjoys reading, running, tennis, and spending time with her family and friends.
