Meet Chris M. Midgley

Chris joins Morgan & Morgan with robust litigation experience demonstrated throughout his entire legal career.  Chris has the distinction of ample trial and appellate work, including handling a matter before the Supreme Court of the United States with a successful outcome.  Chris is barred in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Eastern District of Virginia, 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Immediately before working with Morgan & Morgan, Chris had a successful tenure with a prominent regional personal injury firm obtaining the best results for his clients whether it was within the courtrooms, in mediations, or exemplary negotiations directly with the insurance companies. Chris obtained optimal results for his clients and is excited to bring his talents to Morgan & Morgan.

Prior to representing injured victims, Chris worked in all levels of government (local, state, and federal).  He successfully handled matters for the Department of the Defense and the Department of State for cases before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), and the Foreign Service Grievance Board (FSGB). Prior to that, he zealously represented City and County employees in defending lawsuits for personal injury cases, 42 U.S.C. Section 1983 actions, employment law, Codes violations, collections actions, and contractual disputes.  He was also responsible for handling the Foster Care Docket on behalf of the Newport News Department of Social Services.  Furthermore, he performed contract reviews and handled FOIA requests for Chesterfield County.

In the early stages of his career, Chris routinely handled hundreds of cases in his service with the Hampton Public Defender's Office.  Staying true to his roots, Chris is a fierce advocate in the courtroom and holds the opposition accountable.  Chris is ready to fight for you.

In Their Words

“Growing up in a blue-collar military family, I watched people I loved face injustice, fear the legal system, and be taken advantage of by insurance companies. I became a lawyer to give a voice to the voiceless, level the playing field, and fight for justice for the injured.”
