Meet Brook Ptacek

An Atlanta native, Brook Ptacek began her academic journey at Loyola University New Orleans, where she excelled as a Dean's Scholar and earned a degree in Mass Communication with a minor in French. Her passion for the French language led her to study abroad in Paris at the prestigious Sorbonne, completing a French-speaking immersion program and earning a certificate in French Cultural Studies. Brook then returned home to attend the Georgia State University College of Law as a Dean’s Scholar. During law school, she demonstrated a profound commitment to serving others, performing over 1,000 hours of volunteer service and ultimately graduating with a Pro Bono and Public Service Distinction. She also gained crucial hands-on courtroom experience by interning in the Trial Circuit Division of the Fulton County District Attorney's Office and clerking for the Honorable Judge Doris Downs in Fulton County Superior Court, where she contributed to the Behavioral Health Treatment Court diversion program.

Early in her career, Brook expanded her legal horizons by contributing to the Department of Justice's high-profile monitorship of Volkswagen following the emissions scandal. Since transitioning into civil litigation, she has dedicated her career to championing the rights of injured individuals, helping to recover roughly 30 million dollars in settlements over her professional journey. Brook has established herself as an elite trial strategist and jury selection expert. She was an integral part of the trial team that secured a historic 18.3 million verdict in Gwinnett County State Court in July 2025 and followed that success by serving on the trial and jury selection team that achieved a monumental 56 million verdict in Fulton County State Court in December 2025.

These extraordinary courtroom victories have earned Brook immense recognition as one of the legal community's brightest young stars. She has been honored as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for consecutive years and was named to The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 list, as well as being included in the prestigious Who's Who in America. Deeply invested in her professional community, Brook is an active leader within the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. She is a graduate of their highly selective, year-long LEAD program, serves on the Young Lawyers PAC Board and the Directed Giving initiative, and contributes to the Verdict Editorial Committee as an accomplished author of multiple published articles.

Today, Brook continues to bring her powerhouse advocacy, strategic brilliance, and warm, empathetic nature to her clients' cases every single day. She is also deeply passionate about giving back to the profession, regularly spending her time mentoring law students and newer attorneys just starting out. Outside of her demanding legal practice, Brook is a self-proclaimed francophile, live-music lover, and courtroom television junkie who enjoys cooking, taking outdoor walks, and tending to her office orchids. Above all, she cherishes her vibrant family life in Atlanta with her husband, Andrew, her child, AJ, and her two beloved dogs, Boots and Otto.
