Art began his legal career as a prosecutor for the State of Florida, serving as a Senior Attorney with the Department of Professional Regulation. This early experience provided him with deep insight into medical standards, regulatory compliance, and physician decision-making.
Following his tenure with the State, Art transitioned into private practice, where he gained valuable experience working within the medical malpractice defense community and developed a strong understanding of the insurance industry. He later joined a law firm in Tampa, where he served as head of the firm’s medical malpractice division from 1998 to 2008. In that role, he handled some of the most serious and complex malpractice cases, building a reputation for maximizing case value and delivering exceptional results for clients.
He manages cases from initial evaluation through trial, and represents clients through trial. His practice is defined by thorough preparation, strong advocacy, and a results-driven approach.
In addition to his litigation work, Art has been a guest lecturer on topics including hospital liability and strategies for maximizing plaintiff damages.
Art earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Florida State University College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from New College of the University of South Florida.
