Biography Overview
Alvis Horne was born and raised in Leon County, Florida, and is a “double-Knight,” having graduated from the University of Central Florida (UCF) with both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in health administration. After his time at UCF, Alvis remained in Orlando to attend Barry University’s Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, where he served as a Senator within the Student Bar Association, a Research Assistant, a Trial Team member, and a Civil Litigation Intern within the Orlando City Attorney's Civil Litigation division.
Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan, Alvis also worked within the healthcare industry for several years to resolve operational dilemmas surrounding insurance, quality, regulatory compliance, and patient experience issues. Thereafter, he later leveraged this knowledge during his tenure as an Attorney within the Florida Department of Health’s Medical Quality Assurance department to prosecute healthcare professionals for a variety of regulatory compliance matters surrounding facility and practitioner licensure violations.
In addition to his healthcare policy and regulation experience, as former Captive Counsel and General Counsel to several prestigious, multinational, Fortune 500, insurance companies, Alvis has an in depth understanding of how insurance carriers evaluate and defend cases and is honored to work for individuals and families who have been injured as a result of another's negligence.
Most importantly, and apart from his professional career, as one born to a schoolteacher and police officer, Alvis takes a unique pride in personalized service and unwavering loyalty — to his family, friends, clients, and community.
