As of Monday, May 21st, Morgan & Morgan’s civil suit against Casey Anthony will officially proceed with Ms. Anthony in the courtroom. On May 10th, Judge Lisa Munyon ruled that the firm had the right to know Ms. Anthony’s address in order to serve her with a subpoena, despite a former ruling to the contrary. The firm’s investigators had her residence staked out in anticipation of serving her with the documents, which on Monday were accepted on her behalf by her attorneys.
Ms. Anthony’s address will remain sealed from public view, a condition volunteered by the lawyers at Morgan & Morgan in order to gain access to her whereabouts. The news comes as a relief and a joy to the attorneys at the firm and Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, the woman suing Ms. Anthony for defamation.
“Ms. Gonzalez is happy to hear that Casey Anthony finally will be held accountable just like everybody else,” states attorney Matt Morgan, echoing an earlier sentiment of Keith Mitnik’s, when her address was first released to the firm. "I think she should be in those same uncomfortable seats everybody else is. I want her there facing a jury and facing the person she accused wrongfully."
