Uniform

Athletic trainers usually wear clothing that does not restrict their mobility and that is appropriate for their athletic work environment. They usually wear comfortable sneakers that are suitable for walking or running on all types of playing fields or courts. Trainers often wear polo shirts as they are a bit more formal and professional than a t-shirts, but retain all of the same advantages. Khaki pants or shorts and "wind-breaker" pants are generally worn on the lower half of the body.

On game days, if a trainer is to accompany the team to a competition, he or she may wear more formal clothing. Dress shoes and pants may be worn along with a dress shirt or a polo shirt that bears the team's name or logo. Oftentimes, a trainer will choose to wear clothing that matches the team's colors as a show of support.
