Burns
Burns are usually caused by exposure to extreme heat or UV light, but can also be caused by exposure to chemicals, electricity, radiation or cold. Burns are classified from first degree to fourth degree, with the latter being the most severe type of burn. Minor burns can usually be treated with a local anesthetic to manage the pain, but for more severe burns, a doctor should be contacted.
Burns are classified as a contraindication, which means they should not be massaged because it will only cause more damage to the injury and slow the healing process. Massaging a burn only causes pain and irritates the injured area further.
