Restaurant Workers
A busy, fast-paced commercial kitchen can be a dangerous place to work. Slippery floors, knives, hot surfaces, heavy equipment and cramped quarters can lead to injury if workers aren't cautious. Slip and fall accidents are the leading hazards in the restaurant industry, accounting for nearly half of the industry's workplace injury cases.
With three million teenagers in the U.S. workforce, it's not surprising that teenagers account for 230,000 workplace injury cases. What is shocking is the fact that the vast majority of these injuries, over 60%, occur in eating and drinking establishments, making restaurants one of the riskiest places for teenage workers.
