Rest Areas

When there is no available parking at truck stops, a rest area is a trucker's next best option for taking a break. However, rest areas tend to be even more isolated and poorly lit than truck stops, making the risk of assault and other crimes just as likely if not more so.

Deciding where to park is the key to safety. All drivers should find a parking spot that is well lit, and if possible should park in groups of trucks. Drivers should always be vigilant when leaving or returning to their vehicle.
