Foot Injuries

Mid-foot Pain

Pain in the mid-foot is often caused by a strain or stress fracture due to an abnormality in the arch. People with high arches or flat feet are more prone to this type of injury. Age also affects the rate of injury to this area, as the body naturally loses its form with each passing year.

Injuries to the mid-foot, including sprains and fractures, are likely to occur when practicing sports, due to minor twisting when stepping unevenly, and during more serious accidents, such as motor vehicle crashes or falls from heights.

Mid-foot injuries include:

  • Navicular stress fracture
  • Plantar fascia strain
  • Tibialis posterior tendinopathy
  • Extensor tendinopathy
