Leg Cramps
Leg cramps are painful, involuntary contractions of the leg muscles. They are common in athletes who train intensely, especially runners. A cramp may appear due to dehydration, fatigue, failing to stretch or biomechanical problems when walking or running.
When a muscle cramp occurs, one should stretch the affected muscles. Massaging the area will encourage blood flow and bring relief. A sports massage by a professional helps to relieve some of the tension in the muscle and stretches it in ways that normal stretching can not achieve.
