Labor Organization
Labor Organization | Attorneys for Orlando, Tampa, Fort Myers, Jacksonville and Miami
A labor union is an organization of current, retired, and unemployed workers and professionals who share a common industry bond. With the help of union leaders, the group is able to bargain with an employer on behalf of the entire union membership to maintain or improve jobsite conditions. The most common topics of negotiation include:
- Wages
- Work rules
- Complaint procedures
- Regulations for hiring, firing, and promoting employees
- Benefits
- Safety policies
Once an agreement is reached between the union and the employer, the employer must not break the contract, or it will risk losing workers who go on strike.
