How We Work
Here at Morgan & Morgan, we believe almost all accidents are caused by some preventable means.
Unfortunately, life is not fair, and good people can have the worst of luck; an elderly family member may be neglected in a nursing home, a basic surgical procedure may have severe side effects that turn fatal, a drunk driver can permanently change a life, or a jobsite injury may land the household provider in the hospital unable to return to work. The list is never-ending.
When one of these situations happens to you, Morgan & Morgan is by your side. The first line of communication between the firm and the client will be with one of our six full-time receptionists who will refer the client to the Case Control Department. There, one of over 30 full-time staff members will ask the client some initial questions regarding the potential claim. An interview will normally last 15 to 30 minutes.
The next step is to make an appointment for a sign-up interview. We are willing to work around a client's schedule, so if it is inconvenient to meet in one of our offices, we will travel to a client's house, work, or even a medical facility if the client is hospitalized. Since we have more than 25 full-time field service investigators to choose from, someone should be able to meet with the client within a day or two. In the event of an accident where time is of the essence when gathering vital information from the scene, it is no problem for us to send an investigator out within 24 hours.
At Morgan & Morgan, we are highly focused on a variety of practice areas to best prepare for our clients.
After the client has completed the preliminary interview process, they will be directed to the appropriate department. For example, if the client is involved in a car accident, they will be referred to an attorney who only deals in car accident disputes.
Once the claim reaches the proper department, its validity will be evaluated by one of five department heads. The department head then decides which attorney within that unit is the best fit for the client's case. Typically, a client will be assigned an attorney, legal assistant, and a case manager (for all workers' compensation, first party, and negligence cases) within a week after the initial contact.
At that point, individual departments have unique systems of processing cases, and a lawyer and case manager will provide the client with any advice they may need. From the client's introduction to our staff to the triumphant resolution of a case, Morgan & Morgan stresses personal interaction.
