Footballers' Ankle
Footballers' ankle is a bony growth at the front of the ankle. The growth often occurs after the ankle has been over stretched and results is inflammation of the joint and tendons. There is often pain in the front of the ankle joint when pressure is applied and pain when bending the foot up or down. A hard, bony lump can be felt at the front of the ankle.
Footballers' ankle may require surgery if the patient does not respond to rehabilitation exercises or if the growth is large. Wearing an ankle brace will offer support, and massaging the area can help bring relief.
