Occupational Safety

Eyewear

Eyewear is protective clothing for the eyes. Different types of construction site protective eyewear include:

  • Goggles - enclose and protect the eye from particulates, debris, fluids, chemicals and, in some cases, light and radiation.
  • Sunglasses - protect against visible and ultraviolet light.
  • Welding glasses - protect against intense light generated by welding. Arc welding goggles must be much darker than blowtorch goggles.
  • Helmets - some construction site helmets also have eye protection.
