Causes of disabilities in children occur in one of three ways; either they are born with it, they suffer a traumatic injury, or they contract a debilitating disease. A disability is a condition in which an individual is significantly impaired relative to the norm. It is essential that we do our part to integrate children with disabilities into society and not shun them away. Although they may need greater accommodations, they are often capable of joining the workforce when they reach the legal age. Our nation's educational system is doing its part to give these children the opportunity to attend schools like their peers, but also receive the one-on-one care that they deserve. We must not forget that these children are not that different, just unique, and should not be treated as such or discriminated against because of their disability.
