The family of suspected hazing victim, Robert Champion, will sue Florida A&M University, an attorney said Friday. Champion, 26, was a drum major for the renowned “Marching 100” band at FAMU and was on the road with the school’s football team when he passed on the evening of November 19. Champion was found on a bus parked outside of an Orlando hotel following a loss to FAMU rival Behtune-Cookman. According to police, Champion had been vomiting and complained of difficulty breathing before he collapsed.
